Celebration Midweek - April 26

1. EVENTS TO REMEMBER

May 9, Book Club, 6:30 at El Burrito Loco.  We're reading "The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed out the Window and Disappeared" by Jonas Jonasson.
May 17, Clay Shoot, 6:00PM till dark.  

2. SUNDAY - "UNITED"  It seems we are more divided and fractured than ever.  But this was never how we were meant to be!  Invite a friend to join us as we begin our Sunday sermon series through the Apostle Paul's letter to the Ephesians with: "United For the World" (Ephesians 3:1-13).

3. PRAYERS
Each week we list a different country which is in need of our prayers.  You can go to the website to watch a short video on how to pray specifically for this country.  May God continue to do his work there!
Prayer Focus: Cambodia
  • Pray for justice and healing from the Khmer Rouge genocide of the late 1970's.
  • Pray for a display of God’s power and continued unprecedented growth within the Cambodian Church.
  • Pray for deliverance and salvation for the millions of children in bondage to forced labor, human trafficking, and the sex trade.

Local Prayers:

  • Pray for Lisa Crabtree's dad who has stomach cancer.
  • Pray for affordable and stable housing situations.
  • Pray for families in transition.
  • Pray for friends and families.

  • Pray for Steve Swanson as he begins rehab soon after his surgery to his heel.
  • Praise God because "things are looking up."
  • Pray for dependable transportation.
  • Pray for the spiritual health of loved ones.
  • Praise God for the wonderful people he has put in our lives.
  • Praise God for spouses who love us.
  • Praise God for spring cleaning.
  • Pray for the Doctor family, including Roger Doctor and Sandra Perkins, in their time of loss. 
  • Pray for "direction and resolution" in life.
  • Pray for reconciliation with friends and family who are estranged.

  • Pray for personal business opportunities.  May God make them successful.
  • Praise God for a successful surgery for Buck, the Hazelmyer's good friend.
  • Mandy asks for prayers for her mom's health and safety for her daughter in the Marines.
  • May God make our children so disheartened by the empty things of this world that they will run to a full life in
  • Asher Workman broke his fibula.  Pray for patience as this little guy heals.
  • Continue to pray for the Doctor family including Sandra Perkins and Roger Doctor with the passing of Elaine Doctor last week.
  • Pray for young people turning to drugs to deal with life.  May God transform their lives.
  • Pray for strength and stamina to do the assignments God has for us each day.
  • Pray for a closer walk with Jesus.
  • Darla Baird asks for prayer for my mom Lillian Johnson. She was very sick with pneumonia but doing better. Please pray that she returns to health soon.
  • Pray for marriages in need of God's healing touch.
  • Pray for those who have lost loved ones in their lives recently.
  • Pray for those battling painful events of the past.  May forgiveness free them from their prison.
  • Pray for healing for Duane Gray as he returns to work after his hernia surgery.
  • Pray for rain in the drough stricken areas of Somalia, Kenya, and Ethiopia.
  • Pray for good resolutions to conflicts.

  • Pray for missionaries to be sent to areas and roughly 130 tribes unreached by the Gospel.

  • Asher Workman broke his fibula.  Pray for patience as this little guy heals.
  • Praise God for the adoption of Sarah by Charles Serene!

  • Pray for a closer walk with Jesus.
  • Praise God for the guests we had at church on Sunday.  May we continue to be a welcoming church for those looking for Jesus and a church home.

Holy Week News!

1. INVITE A FRIEND! Who are you inviting to church for Sunday?  People are more likely to go to church with you if you ask them to go at Christmas or Easter.  This is why we put so much energy into these weeks.  You can do it!  Please pray for God to give you opportunities where you can invite someone.  Remember, it's not just about you anymore!

2. HOLY WEEK EVENTS
April 13, MAUNDY THURSDAY SERVICE at Forest Park Covenant, 6:30PM. Experience the last days for Jesus as we celebrate Communion and a candlelight service with other area churches.
April 14, GOOD FRIDAY DINNER and SERVICE at New Hope Baptist Church.  The dinner begins at 5:30PM and the service begins at 6:30PM.  NOTE: There is no charge for the meal.
April 16, EASTER BREAKFAST, 9:30AM at church.  NOTE: There is no charge for the meal.
April 16, SUNDAY WORSHIP - "Good News From the Graveyard!"  We encounter chaos, turmoil, and despair on sometimes a daily basis.  Oh we are in need some good news lately!  Join us Sunday as we discover this god news in the most unlikely place.  (Luke 24:1-3)

  • Pray for a strengthened economy that will put an end to abject poverty and the plight of homeless street children.
  • Pray for believers to be spiritually equipped for battle against the enemy who continues his hold on the Bolivian church.
  • Pray for a new standard of discipleship that will equip believers to stand against false doctrine and immoral lifestyles.

  • Praise God for Greg and Sandy Hazelmyer's neighbor, Buck, hip replacement surgery went well. May his recuperation go well too!

  • Pray for the Bixby family and their newborn who is 16 weeks early.
  • Pray for marriages in need of God's direction.
  • Pray for my friend Joe whose 2 year old son had surgery yesterday to get the "trach tube" out of his throat for the first time.  There were minor complications but overall things went quite well.
  • Pray for rain in the drough stricken areas of Somalia, Kenya, and Ethiopia.
  • Pray for Mike Kalinowski who will have surgery on his leg this week.
  • Pray for those battling depression.
  • Pray for good resolutions to conflicts.
