Celebration Midweek - June 24

Quote for the day by Rich Mullins:  “The Bible is not a book for the faint of heart -- it is a book full of all the greed and glory and violence and tenderness and sex and betrayal that benefits mankind. It is not the collection of pretty little anecdotes mouthed by pious little church mice -- it does not so much nibble at our shoe leather as it cuts to the heart and splits the marrow from the bone. It does not give us answers fitted to our small-minded questions, but truth that goes beyond what we even know to ask.”
The Bible is many things but at it's core it is the truth.  It is the truth of our Great God loved a selfish and unfaithful people but still made a way through Jesus that they might be friends again.  The Bible is about us and God's way to lead us to him.  That is the truth that our souls are asking!

Celebration Midweek - June 10

I heard about a man who has not touched alcohol for 35 years after years of abuse.  He said that he thought of drinking every day when he called himself an alcoholic.  Things changed when he began saying "I'm not an alcoholic, I'm a child of God who doesn't drink." His temptation to drink began to diminish to the point where he doesn't think about drinking any more.  Can you relate?
