Celebration Midweek - July 6

QUOTE FOR THE DAY: "The rule for all of us is perfectly simple. Do not waste time bothering whether you ‘love’ your neighbor; act as if you did. As soon as we do this we find one of the great secrets.”  (C.S. Lewis in 'Mere Christianity)

1. Women's Bible Study - On July 20, we will be starting a Women's Bible Study every other Wednesday from 11:00AM to noon. The women will sort clothes for Baby Basics from 10:00-11:00 then begin the study.  Initially they will go through a study based on the life of Ruth titled "The Woman Who Doesn't Quit."  This is a great place to invite a friend!  Contact Sandy Hazelmyer or Sue DeBoer for more info.

2. LoveINC Needs - Save your sturdy water bottles and toilet paper tubes for LoveINC.  They will use them for the new class beginning at Celebration in a couple months.

3. ANNUAL CARNIVAL -  Remember to sign up on the posters in the entryway for your role in the carnival.  The event is September 24!  This is one of our biggest outreach events and we want to support it.

4. SERVE PROJECT HELP - If you can hold a knife or boil water you are needed this week!  Calvin Church is hosting students from all over the US and Canada and need to feed them.  Contact Pastor Matt (matt@celebrationmuskegon.org) for a 3 hour shift in the kitchen.  There is still some Prayer Partners needed too.  Thanks!

6. PRAYERS -
  • Pray for those battling addictions.  May the Spirit lead them back to Jesus who is the one thing they really need.
  • Jim Espinoza's daughter's tests came back negative for cancer!
  • Pray for the great work of LoveINC and our representative/liaison, Patti Lacy.
  • Pray for the great work in Malawi, Mozambique with Orphans Unlimited and our contact, Brenda Lange.
  • Pray for those who struggle with things we do not struggle with.  Give us patience and humility as we seek to love them through their issues.
  • From Kim Rhodes: "I wanted to say that I love you all at Celebration...There were people praying, calling, and texting me and just caring for me...it was wonderful!  I like the fact God gave you all to me!"
  • Pray for Jackie Knight as she meets with her surgeon next week.
  • Thank you all for your prayers for this year.  The amount of prayer request cards we have received to date is equal to the amount we received for ALL of last year!  Keep it up!
