Celebration Mid Week

Celebration, Here are a few announcements for this week!

1. Strawberries: Join us today after the worship service to celebrate Father's Day with strawberry shortcake!

2. Call: Has God ever asked you to do something completely out of your comfort zone? Is this your story right now? Invite a friend on Sunday as we look at God's call to his people through the story of Abraham (Genesis 12).

3. Prayer Partners: We have been asked again this year to be prayer partners with Calvin CRC's Serve Team. We have 5 boy and 5 girls this year that need prayer partners, small gifts and support during Serve in July. Please consider partnering with one of the teens from serve this year.

4. Prayers:
  • Reyes' Aunt Gloria is going in for emergency open heart surgery Wednesday. Also pray for Reyes' sister Yvonne that she remains faithful even in difficulties regarding her health.
  • Please continue to keep Jena DeWolfe in your prayers. She is doing very well, getting A's and B's in school, participating in sports, and handling her emotions in more productive ways. Pray that she continues to grow and learn in placement.
  • Please be in prayer for Mike Straley as they have found some heart issues during his stress test today. Please pray for the skilled hands of his surgeon, for healing and comfort.
  • Please be in prayer for the Erickson family. The lies of the enemy have entered their marriage and have brought them to divorce. They have 4 small children who are frightened and very confused right now.
5. Thanks: Our 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting has been a wonderful experience for me and hopefully for you too!  Let us know your stories of how God spoke to you during the past 40 days!

Celebration Midweek - Jan. 23, 2013

How much more excitement can we have this week? The Consumer's Energy guys replaced our electrical pole in the parking lot that was pushed over by the snowplow! Good times!

1. Prayers: Pastor Walt - X-rays showed no more kidney stones so they took out the stents. He will not need any more surgeries. Marilee S - They removed a nodule in her lung and found it to be benign (non-cancerous). She is recuperating at home.

2. Congregational Meeting: We will have a congregational meeting at church Sunday to discuss moving forward with Phase 2 of our building program. Enclosed is a handout.

3. Feedback Survey: Please provide us feedback by taking a short 5 minute survey! Thanks. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/P6WYTHX

4. Movie Night: This Friday, January 25, at 7:00PM we will show October Baby in the worship center. The movie intertwines the topic of abortion and the story of a girl looking for love, forgiveness, and life. View the trailer for more info: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_9l7lEe-AA FYI: The movie is rated PG-13 and may not be suitable for small children.

5. New Members Class - In February we will start a New Members class after morning worship. Yes, that means that food will be involved! This class is for anyone who wants to take that next step in responsibilities and involvement at Celebration. We will meet 3 times to explore what it means to be a member at Celebration. Contact Pastor Matt to sign up.

6. This coming Sunday we will conclude our series of "In the Boat With Jesus". We always talk about being fishers of men but what needs to happen before we are? I wish I would have known this a long time ago!

Celebration News

Here are 6 things you should know this week!

1. IT'S FINALLY OVER!:Whew, we made it! Just barely but we are done with the election season until it begins (too soon) for 2014. My hope and prayer is for the country in which we live and the friendships we have. This may be a disappointing election of epic proportions or the best election since the dawn of electoral contests.
The most important thing to remember that this is NOT OUR HOME! (Phil. 3:20)  We are aliens, immigrants, temporary workers, stewards, vagabonds, etc. But we are here for such a short time. Let's continue our main job of bringing God's Kingdom to earth as it is already in heaven. Maybe that thought will break the gridlock of the next 4 years?

2. SERVING TONIGHT: Eat some supper and meet at 6:30PM at 1) Hope's Outlet or 2) Seminole Shores for a night of serving! Bring the kids too!

3. CHILI!: Sunday is the Annual Chili Cook-off! If you would like to enjoy this meal after worship on Sunday and HAVEN'T signed up, contact Holly at church. I hear Roger has a special recipe this year!

4. SONGS OF THE HEART: Confession is only good for other people, right? Wouldn't it be great if we could be free of the dark and secretive stains on our souls? Sunday's message draws on the song of confession from Psalm 51 which we ALL know we need! See you there!

5. IMPORTANT DATES: November 18 - Adopt-a-Family begins. November 21 (Wed) - Celebration Thanksgiving Worship Service!

6. BIGGER BOAT NEEDED: There were 81 adults in the worship center last Sunday! And that doesn't count the children and other adults in the building either! You probably noticed that it was a bit "cozy". Stay tuned for more information from the "We Need A Bigger Boat" Team that will address that issue.
